Fate/Samurai Remnant FGO rerun: dates, Iori, and rewards

Fate/Samurai Remnant is back in FGO from 14 Oct to 4 Nov 2026 (Japan time). See Iori, the shop rewards, and how Keian Edo differs from the magic war.

The rerun that is open right now

Fate/Samurai Remnant is back inside Fate/Grand Order as a three-week rerun. The Japanese official news post, dated 16 October 2026 and updated the same evening, titles it 復刻版:盈月剣風帖. The quest window printed there is 14 October 2026 at 18:00 through 4 November 2026 at 12:59. This article was checked against that post on 23 October 2026. That day sits inside the window.

The premise on the post is short. The Master rayshifts to Edo in Keian 4, meets the swordsman Miyamoto Iori, and the two of them play out another Waxing Moon Ritual (盈月の儀). Jin Haganeya (鋼屋ジン) is credited with the scenario. You can enter after clearing Part 1's prologue, Singularity F, the burning contaminated city of Fuyuki. The same notice warns that the story includes some spoilers for Part 2.

Fate/Samurai Remnant itself is the 2023 game this collab is borrowing. Koei Tecmo America's catalog lists a 29 September 2023 release, developed by Omega Force, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. The English story page calls it an action RPG and sets the plot in "the 4th year of the Keian Era," with Miyamoto Iori, a young man in Asakusa, pulled into a Holy Grail War. Seven Masters and seven Servants fight over the Waxing Moon. That ritual is fiction. The calendar on the FGO post is a real game schedule.

If you play the English-language app, do not assume this Japan-time clock is yours. The check on 23 October 2026 used the Japanese post. It did not turn up an English news article that reprints 14 October to 4 November 2026. Open the news board inside your own client before you spend Saint Quartz.

Dates, people, and named rewards

The post splits "the event" into more than one clock. Quests, a 21-login gift, doubled EXP on Iori, and a half-AP campaign share the three-week window that ends 4 November at 12:59. The exchange shop runs a fourth week, through 11 November at 12:59. After that, Musashi udon (武蔵うどん), Edo musubi (江戸むすび), and Azuma dried persimmons (東干し柿) disappear. Materials you already bought stay. Unspent food does not.

Figures below are copied from the Japanese rerun notice and the 16 October Pickup 4 notice. Checked 23 October 2026.

Story chapters do not all open on night one. The notice prints this unlock order. A later chapter can also stay locked until you clear an earlier quest. The printed date opens the door. By 23 October the last date on the list, 21 October at 18:00, has already passed, so the finale block and the challenge quest are on the calendar. You still have to earn the gates.

  1. 14 October, 18:00: Iori joins as a temporary ally. Prologue, Act 1, Act 2, and free quests.
  2. 15 October, 18:00: Acts 3 and 4, Iden quests, and free quests.
  3. 16 October, 18:00: Acts 5 and 6, Iden quests, and free quests.
  4. 17 October, 18:00: Acts 7 and 8, Iden quests, and free quests.
  5. 18 October, 18:00: Acts 9 and 10, Iden quests, and free quests.
  6. 19 October, 18:00: Acts 11 and 12, and free quests.
  7. 20 October, 18:00: Acts 13 and 14.
  8. 21 October, 18:00: Acts 15 through the finale, Iden quests, free quests, and the challenge quest. Clearing the Iden quest that opens after the finale makes Iori a formal ally.

Two other systems sit on that map. Spirit-land tiles (霊地) change color with the faction that holds them. When your side takes one, the tile turns blue, and some main quests open only after a capture. Iden quests (異傳, iden) are the side stories that recruit a stray Servant. That Servant can then be fielded as a guest in the event's main quests. Some main quests will not open until a named Iden clear is done. Town trials (町の試練) are missions, including "collect this many items." Meeting the condition does not pay you. You have to claim the reward, and leaving it unclaimed can block the next mission or a main quest. Those trials are also where Iori's ascension item, the mizuhiki netsuke (水引根付), comes from. The post says his battle sprite does not change when you ascend him.

Who the rerun actually names

The story sentence names two people: the Master, and Miyamoto Iori. Iori is the welfare Servant, the 4-star you receive for playing, not for pulling. On the event-bonus table he is listed as a Saber. While the rerun is up, that table gives him +100 percent attack and +50 percent bond points to himself. The same bracket lists Yamato Takeru, Yui Shosetsu, and Minamoto-no-Raikou / Ushi Gozen. A bonus row is not a cast list. The post says a Servant can be on the bonus table and still not appear in the main scenario.

Yui Shosetsu (由井正雪) is the historical name readers will look for, so here is the limit of what the rerun pages say. Pickup 4, which runs 16 October 2026 at 18:00 through 4 November at 12:59, features him as a limited 4-star alongside 5-star Miyamoto Musashi (Saber) and 5-star Gilgamesh (Archer). The bonus table lists Yui as a Caster in the +100 percent attack group. That is a gacha and bonus entry. It is not a line in the story blurb, and it is not a claim that his 1651 plot has been reenacted.

Miyamoto Musashi (Saber) is a different card from Iori. The 16 October game-update notice adds a strengthening quest for that Saber the same evening Pickup 4 starts, and the same evening a Minamoto-no-Raikou / Ushi Gozen pickup starts. The quest lives in Chaldea Gate, has no adventure segment, and has no closing date. You need to own that Saber, at final ascension, and you need a clear of "Enhancement Quest Miyamoto Musashi 2." The clear pays a strengthening and Saint Quartz. The number of quartz is not on the post. If that Saber is absent from your roster, the quest does not show up. Iori's story does not require this Saber. Fuyuki is the entry ticket.

The bonus table also lists a Berserker Miyamoto Musashi, at the smaller +30 percent attack step, plus Yagyu Tajima-no-kami Munenori and Sasaki Kojiro. Those are bonus names on this rerun's notice. They are not the plot summary. Pickup 4 says its banner covers eleven Servants in five separate summons, and that each summon keeps its own pity count. An 11-pull guarantees one 4-star-or-higher card, which may be a Craft Essence, and one 3-star-or-higher Servant. If 329 pulls miss the featured 5-star, the 330th is a guaranteed copy of that 5-star. Limited Servants and limited Craft Essences on this banner are not added to story summon when the banner ends. Iori is the one the story hands you. The rest of the Fate roster can stay in the summon screen.

Edo in the 1650s, and a magic war labeled as fiction

The Gamecity outline dates its Edo with a government calendar, not with a spell. It is Keian 4. Forty-eight years have passed since Lord Ieyasu opened the bakufu. The Tokugawa seat has passed to the fourth shogun, Ietsuna. Edo's population is growing. Domain seizures and abolished houses have filled the streets with ronin, and the peace looks slightly shadowed. Then the outline leaves the record and starts the ritual.

Forty-eight years after the 1603 founding is 1651. That is the year EBSCO's account of the Ietsuna shogunate uses for a real succession. Tokugawa Iemitsu died in 1651. His son Tokugawa Ietsuna, born in 1641, became shogun at ten. Because he was a child, his uncle Hoshina Masayuki became his guardian. Edo was the shogun's capital, the city that is now Tokyo. The Edo period page on this site is the longer account of that government. This section only needs the year the collab is pointing at.

The plot that makes 1651 memorable is the Keian incident, named that way because it fell in the last year of the Keian era. EBSCO's 2024 research starter on Yui Shosetsu, by R. C. Lutz, describes him as a military-science teacher (1605-1651) who, with the ronin instructor Marubashi Chuya, planned an attack after Iemitsu's death. They meant to blow the shogun's arsenal, set fire to Edo and to Sumpu (modern Shizuoka), kill senior ministers, and take Edo Castle, where the boy shogun lived. Yui went to Sumpu with ten ronin for a second strike, aimed at the shrine at Kunozan. Informants reached senior councillor Matsudaira Nobutsuna. Marubashi and thirty-three other plotters, including some male relatives, were executed on 24 September 1651. Yui, learning of those deaths, killed himself in Sumpu. A note he left said he had wanted attention for ronin who had lost their livelihoods, and had not meant to overthrow the shogun. Lutz records that historians still debate which of those aims was real.

The outline and the history book agree on the setting: a new child shogun, a city full of masterless men, and a government that had been taking domains away. The games leave that setting when the Waxing Moon Ritual starts. Koei Tecmo's English page calls the fight a battle of seven pairs "in the shadows," and calls the prize the Waxing Moon Ritual. Rayshifts and Servants belong to the game script. Lutz's account stays with the arsenal plot and the executions. Yui's name on a FGO banner is a character license. It does not move the executions off the 1651 calendar, and it does not make the ritual a disguised coup.

What the rewards do, and which ones matter

A Craft Essence (概念礼装) is a card you equip on a Servant for a fight. It is not a character. A command code (コマンドコード) is smaller still: an effect engraved on one of that Servant's command cards. Saint Quartz (聖晶石) is the premium currency. The summon screen spends it, and the Saber Musashi quest pays some, with the count left off the page. A welfare Servant is the opposite of a pull. You clear the story and the character joins. Iori is that welfare. A Holy Grail, in this game, is the rare item that raises a Servant's level cap past the normal stop. The rerun post does not teach that use. It does say you can obtain a grail again by progressing, even if the first collab already gave you one.

Put those next to each other and the order is fairly plain. Iori changes your roster and costs no quartz. The grail changes one Servant's ceiling, and the post says the rerun will pay it again. Lore (伝承結晶), one copy from the challenge quest's first clear, is a rare skill material. That quest opens 21 October at 18:00 and asks for every town trial, the post-finale Iden quest, and a clear of the Final Singularity (終局特異点). It stays repeatable, but quest rewards, drops, Master EXP, Mystic Code EXP, and bond points pay on the first clear only. A brand-new account that has only just finished Fuyuki cannot walk in and pick up the Lore. Saint Quartz from the Musashi quest is likewise locked behind owning that Saber.

The shop food is how the event turns play into materials. Each of the three currencies can buy the 5-star Craft Essence 月より団子, Iori's Servant coins, and a mix of skill gems, monuments or pieces, and rarer stones. The udon list includes Lore, a 蛮神の心臓, 4-star HP and attack Fou cards, spiritron leaves, a code remover, and 10,000 QP. Musubi can also be traded back into udon. Dried persimmons can be traded into musubi, and into experience cards (the "embers" called 叡智の業火 and the lower fires). Lore, the 4-star Fou cards, and Iori's coins are not all available on day one. The post holds Lore and those Fou cards until a later main quest is cleared, and holds the coins until Iori has formally joined. The coin line caps at 480 from the event exchange.

Plain meanings, since the post names the items and not a tutorial. QP is the game's money. Ten thousand is a small purse once you are leveling skills, so do not farm the collab for that one line. Fou cards are stat snacks, HP or attack, with a cap. Embers are experience cards. A code remover peels a command code off a card so you can stick it on someone else. Servant coins belong to one Servant and are spent in that Servant's own upgrade menu. Spiritron leaves (巡霊の葉) are a separate shop currency. Main-quest progress also pays pure prisms (ピュアプリズム) and bronze saplings (青銅の苗木). The post lists them and does not print an exchange rate for the saplings, so this page will not invent one.

Card effects as printed on the rerun notice and Pickup 4. Drop and attack bonuses marked as event-limited end with the rerun.

二天一流の女, 5-star Craft EssenceATK 500 (max 2000), HP 0Invincible pierce, Arts and Buster up (6% base, 8% at max), plus extra Musashi udon (+1, or +2 at max) during the rerun. The drop line is event-only. Pickup 4 says this limited card is not added to story summon afterward.
萍水相逢, 4-star Craft EssenceATK 200 (max 750), HP 320 (max 1200)NP each turn, Quick up, and crit damage, plus extra Edo musubi during the rerun (+1, or +2 at max). Same split: combat bits stay, the drop bonus does not.
旗鼓相当, 3-star Craft EssenceATK 200 (max 1000), HP 0Small Arts, crit, and NP-damage buffs, plus extra dried persimmons during the rerun. Friend-point summon can drop it during Pickup 4. The post warns that the separate Hakuno friend-point banner does not.
Samurai Remnant and 盈月の儀, 4-starATK 100, HP 100, already max level from the shopEach grants +50 Master EXP on a quest clear, costs 1 rare prism, and can be bought once. The post says they have no bonus in this rerun. There is no exchange deadline.

Read the table as a comparison of lifespan, not as a tier list with hidden rates. 月より団子 is the equip a free-to-play account can actually finish: buy copies from the food shop, limit-break it, and keep a card that still starts a fight with a large NP charge in December. The +100 or +200 percent attack is enormous while the rerun is open and worthless on 5 November. 二天一流の女 is the opposite shape. Its udon bonus is why farmers equip it this month, and its combat skills are modest once the udon stops. It also costs quartz, and Pickup 4 says the limited Craft Essences are not moved into story summon later. Missing it is allowed. Iori does not work that way.

The two 4-star cards in the rare-prism shop, "Samurai Remnant" and "盈月の儀," are the weak end on purpose. The post adds them permanently on 14 October at 18:00, one prism each, once each, already at max level, and then says they grant no bonus in this rerun. +50 Master EXP on a clear is a crumb next to a Servant or a grail. If a rare prism is scarce on your account, leaving it unspent beats buying either card. There is a related trap for returning players. If you already own Iori, copies from the sixth onward (counting the copies used for his Noble Phantasm) each send one rare prism to the present box. Copies bought with spiritron leaves do not count toward that total. Five leaf-shop copies plus one event copy still count as one. Five event copies plus one leaf-shop copy still count as five, and the prism never arrives.

  • When Iori joins temporarily, the post pays ten 5-star all-class embers (叡智の業火 ALL). During the quest window, EXP gained from enhancing him is doubled. That is the cheap way to level the welfare. The double rate ends 4 November at 12:59.
  • Three command codes are printed with the shop: 5-star ソラ渉る天元の花 (invincible pierce and +10 percent crit damage on the engraved card), 4-star 紅玉の書 (a 500-damage burn for 3 turns, plus +5 percent NP gain), and 3-star 窮地のお供 (clears one attack-down and heals 100 HP). They are permanent and small. If you already earned the command-code reward in the first run, the rerun replaces it with a rare prism or a mana prism.
  • The login gift is 3 golden fruits and 18 silver fruits across 21 logins, one login per day: a golden fruit on logins 1, 8, and 15, and a silver fruit on the rest. The first gift goes out from 14 October at 18:00. Later gifts go out at 4:00. The post says you may not receive all 21 if you only became eligible partway through. It does not define how much AP a fruit restores.
  • Half AP, for the same three weeks, covers free quests on the bleached earth, excluding the free quests of Ordeal Call I through IV. Storm Pods are still consumed at the normal rate. The notice does not say the collab nodes themselves are half off. Retreating from a fight on those bleached-earth quests still spends the discounted amount.

Drop rates are the line players invent, and the post refuses them. It says rates on each quest are not 100 percent. There is no table of 12 percent or 40 percent in the text. A usual FGO rerun pattern, labeled here as a pattern and not as this event's math, is that story nodes pay fixed rewards and free quests pay a chance at currencies. Use that only as a reason to read the in-game drop screen. Do not carry a number from an old guide onto 盈月剣風帖.

Play the rerun without treating it as history

You can clear the whole story and still not know what happened in Edo in 1651. That is fine, as long as the clear does not become your source. The steps below follow the gates the news post actually prints.

Five steps for a first clear

Fuyuki is enough to start. The challenge quest is a late-game extra, not the front door.

  1. Step 1: Clear Fuyuki, then accept the spoiler warning — Singularity F is the printed entry condition. The notice also says the collab contains some Part 2 spoilers. If you care about those reveals, stop and play the main story first. The event will not wait past 4 November at 12:59.
  2. Step 2: Clear main quests in order and claim every town trial — Chapters open across 14 to 21 October, and some also wait on an Iden clear or a captured spirit-land tile. Meeting a town-trial condition does not pay the reward. Claim it. Unclaimed rewards can block the next mission and, in some cases, a main quest. Iori's mizuhiki netsuke comes from those trials.
  3. Step 3: Make Iori permanent, then level him while EXP is doubled — He is a temporary ally from the prologue. Formal join requires the Iden quest that opens after the finale, and that block is on the schedule from 21 October at 18:00. The ten 5-star embers from his temporary join, plus doubled enhancement EXP through 4 November, are the printed way to raise him. You do not need the quartz banner for this step.
  4. Step 4: Spend the three foods before 11 November at 12:59 — Udon, musubi, and dried persimmons vanish after the exchange. Buy Iori's coins only after he has formally joined (the shop cap is 480). Take 月より団子 if you want an equip whose NP charge outlives the event. Progress the story for the repeat Holy Grail. Do not spend a rare prism on the +50 Master EXP cards unless you already have prisms to spare. Drop rates are not guaranteed.
  5. Step 5: Close the game and open a history page — Read the Edo period page for the shogunate, and the Miyamoto Musashi page for the swordsman. The Waxing Moon Ritual, the rayshift, and every Servant on the bonus table are fiction. Yui Shosetsu's 1651 plot is the historical event that shares the year. Clearing Acts 1 through the finale does not teach it.

Quiz: the rerun, Iori, and 1651

Answers follow the Japanese news post checked on 23 October 2026, the 2023 game pages, and the EBSCO account of the Keian incident.

  1. 1. The Japanese news post ends the quest window on which timestamp?

    • A. 14 October 2026 at 18:00
    • B. 4 November 2026 at 12:59
    • C. 11 November 2026 at 12:59
    • D. 16 October 2026 at 18:00
    Show answer

    Answer: B. 4 November 2026 at 12:59

Quests, the login bonus, and the half-AP campaign run through 4 November 2026 at 12:59. The exchange shop is the later date, 11 November at 12:59. 14 October is the start. 16 October is when Pickup 4 and the Saber Musashi strengthening quest were added.

  2. 2. On the official Fate/Samurai Remnant outline, Miyamoto Iori is described as

    • A. the historical Miyamoto Musashi, retold under a new name
    • B. Musashi's adopted son and disciple, living in an Asakusa row house
    • C. the fourth shogun, Tokugawa Ietsuna
    • D. the ronin teacher Yui Shosetsu
    Show answer

Answer: B. Musashi's adopted son and disciple, living in an Asakusa row house

The Gamecity outline places a young Iori in Asakusa and calls him Musashi's adopted son and disciple. Ietsuna is the shogun in that same paragraph. Yui Shosetsu is a historical figure of 1651, and a separate Servant name on this rerun's banner.

  3. 3. What does the rerun post say about item drop rates on event quests?

    • A. Every listed drop is guaranteed
    • B. Rates are not 100 percent
    • C. Each node is printed at 12.5 percent
    • D. Drops begin only after 11 November
    Show answer

Answer: B. Rates are not 100 percent

The post says drop rates are not 100 percent. It does not print a precise percentage. The three food currencies also vanish after the exchange period, so unspent udon, musubi, and dried persimmons are gone on 11 November at 12:59.

  4. 4. The challenge quest's first-clear Lore requires which gate, among others?

    • A. Only a clear of the Fuyuki prologue
    • B. All town trials, the post-finale Iden quest, and a clear of the Final Singularity
    • C. Ownership of Miyamoto Musashi (Saber)
    • D. A share of the wallpaper page
    Show answer

Answer: B. All town trials, the post-finale Iden quest, and a clear of the Final Singularity

The post opens the challenge quest on 21 October 2026 at 18:00, then lists those three conditions. The first clear pays one Lore (伝承結晶). Owning Saber Musashi is the gate for that strengthening quest. Iori's story uses the Fuyuki clear instead.

  5. 5. The attack bonus on 月より団子 is

    • A. a permanent +200 percent once the card is limit-broken
    • B. marked as limited to the rerun period
    • C. a replacement for Saint Quartz
    • D. applied to every free quest after November
    Show answer

Answer: B. marked as limited to the rerun period

The news post tags the attack bonus as valid during 復刻版:盈月剣風帖. Base is +100 percent. Max limit break is +200 percent. The NP charge, healing, and NP-damage lines are written separately and are the part that remains.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

When does the Fate/Samurai Remnant FGO rerun end?
The Japanese official news post sets the quest window at 14 October 2026, 18:00, through 4 November 2026, 12:59. The item exchange stays open until 11 November 2026, 12:59. This page was checked on 23 October 2026, inside the quest window. Use your own region's in-game news if you play the English app. This check did not find an English post that reprints these Japan-time dates.
Who is Miyamoto Iori in this rerun?
The FGO news post calls him a swordsman the Master meets after a rayshift to Edo in Keian 4. He is the event's 4-star Servant: a temporary ally from 14 October, and a permanent ally after the Iden quest that opens once the finale is available. The 2023 game's outline makes him Musashi's adopted disciple in an Asakusa row house. He is not the historical Miyamoto Musashi.
Can you get a Holy Grail if you already earned one in the first collab?
Yes. The rerun notice says that progressing this event can grant a Holy Grail again even if you already obtained one in the earlier "Eigetsu Kenpu-cho" collab. The post does not print a shop price or a quantity beyond that repeat grant. In Fate/Grand Order a Holy Grail is the item used to push a Servant past the usual level cap, which is why returning players treat the repeat as worth the clear.
What should a new player chase first?
Miyamoto Iori. He joins from the story, so he does not cost Saint Quartz, and he stays after the formal join. Next, clear far enough to take the repeat Holy Grail. Lore from the challenge quest is scarce, but that quest also demands the Final Singularity. The 10,000 QP line and the +50 Master EXP cards in the rare-prism shop are the small end of the printed list.
Is the Waxing Moon Ritual the historical Keian uprising?
No. Koei Tecmo's English page and the Japanese outline set a fictional seven-pair Holy Grail War, the Waxing Moon Ritual, in Keian 4 Edo. EBSCO's account of 1651 is the failed Keian incident: Yui Shosetsu and Marubashi Chuya, a boy shogun, and a plot that was uncovered. Both point at 1651. The Waxing Moon Ritual is the game's addition.

People also ask

Does this rerun give Saint Quartz?
The Saber Musashi strengthening quest pays Saint Quartz along with the strengthening. The news post does not print how many. The quest was added 16 October 2026 at 18:00, has no end date, and appears only if you own that Saber at final ascension and have cleared the second enhancement quest. Iori's story clear is a separate reward track.
When does Miyamoto Iori join for good?
He joins temporarily on 14 October 2026 at 18:00, with the prologue. Formal join is tied to clearing the Iden quest that opens after the finale. That block of quests is scheduled from 21 October at 18:00. On 23 October that date has passed, so the gate is a clear, not a future unlock.
Which event items disappear?
Musashi udon, Edo musubi, and Azuma dried persimmons disappear when the exchange ends on 11 November 2026 at 12:59. The post says so directly. Craft Essences, command codes, Servant coins, and materials you have already exchanged are not on that vanishing list.
Is the half-AP campaign on the collab quests?
The printed campaign cuts AP in half on bleached-earth free quests, except Ordeal Call I through IV, from 14 October at 18:00 to 4 November at 12:59. Storm Pods are unchanged. The notice does not apply that discount to the collab quests.
Where should a beginner read after the event?
Use the Miyamoto Musashi page for the historical swordsman, the Edo period page for the shogunate Iori's story is standing in, and myth versus reality for the habit of separating a record from a script. The Book of Five Rings is Musashi's text, not a walkthrough for this rerun. Onimusha: Way of the Sword is another 2026 game using Musashi, with a different fiction on top.
